Preheat oven to 180°C. Spray a 20 x 30 cm slice tin with non-stick baking spray and line with non-stick baking pap

Spiced Apple Nut Crumble Slice
- 175 Grams Softened Butter
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 3 Eggs Free Range
- 3/4 Cup Self Raising Flour
- 1 Cup Ground Almonds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
- 1 Teaspoon Mixed Spice
- 1/2 Cup Sultanas
- 1 Cup Blanched Almonds, chopped
- 2 Granny Smith Apples or similar Peeled, Cored and Thinly Sliced
- 1/2 Cup Icing Sugar to dust
Spiced Apple Nut Crumble Slice Directions
- In an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs, flour, ground almonds and spices. Mix in the sultanas and half the chopped almonds and half the apples. Spread the mixture into the prepared tin. Smooth and level the surface then sprinkle over the remaining almonds and apple. Bake for 40 – 45 minutes until well risen and firm-ish in the centre. Cool in the tin
Recipe notes
To serve, re-warm if desired. Cut into portions and dust generously with icing sugar. Serve with yoghurt or ice-cream etc
